Bypass valve
When the filter element in the filter is clogged due to too much impurities, the bypass valve opens and the lubricant directly enters the engine for lubrication without passing through the filter element. The bypass valve is designed for emergency lubrication so as not to cause more severe dry wear on the engine due to lack of lubrication.
Common bypass valves are available in two configurations, one that is spot welded or riveted to the lower end cap and one that is placed above. The specific construction and components are shown in the following figure:
The check valve is the most effective means of directly forming oil pressure during cold start to prevent dry grinding of the engine.
When the filter is installed with the opening facing down or in the horizontal position, if the engine stops working, the oil will flow back to the oil sump and there will be no oil in the oil filter. However, when the engine is started next time, in order to ensure the safety of the engine, the oil must be refilled in the entire lubrication system, thus prolonging the lubrication time of the lubricating oil to the engine body, which increases the wear of the engine body.
Check valve
The check valve is the most effective means of directly forming oil pressure during cold start to prevent dry grinding of the engine.
When the filter is installed with the opening facing down or in the horizontal position, if the engine stops working, the oil will flow back to the oil sump and there will be no oil in the oil filter. However, when the engine is started next time, in order to ensure the safety of the engine, the oil must be refilled in the entire lubrication system, thus prolonging the lubrication time of the lubricating oil to the engine body, which increases the wear of the engine body.
The function of the check valve is to prevent the oil inside the filter from flowing, to ensure that the filter is filled with oil at any time. When the engine is started again, the oil can almost instantaneously reach the engine body for lubrication.
At present, there are even a few dollars of machine filter on the market. This machine does not need to think about it. It must not be used. Don’t overwhelm the engine due to the cheapness of tens of dollars.
